East County residents are stretched thin. I’m particularly concerned about young working families and our large population of seniors. I will vote against unnecessary rate hikes, audit district spending line by line, and explore creative options, so we are not leaning on ratepayers to balance the books.
Our water supply faces real threats — recent cyberattacks on control systems in several states, including California, highlight this fact. I will use my public safety background to ensure these systems are as secure as possible to keep our drinking water reliable and safe.
We cannot keep depending on costly water piped in from hundreds of miles away. I will champion local independence through projects like the East County Advanced Water Purification project, so the tap never runs dry.
It is a kitchen-table issue. This campaign is about protecting what comes out of the tap and what stays in your wallet.
